Have you ever fallen in love at first sight?
Do you long for a place you’ve never been?
Do you often experience the feeling of déjà vu?

Ever since Haven Moore can remember, she’s experienced visions of a previous life as a girl named Constance, whose love for her soul mate Ethan ended in tragedy.

And then the sight of the world’s hottest movie star, Iain Morrow, brings Haven to her knees. She knows she has met him before. Is Iain her beloved Ethan?

Unable to deny her past any longer, seventeen-year-old Haven flees to New York to find him - and an epic love affair begins. But it is both deeply fated and terribly dangerous. Can Haven unlock the deadly secrets in her past lives - and loves - before all is lost and Ethan disappears again…forever?

The Eternal Ones is a mysterious tale of love, revenge and reincarnation.

Haven’s hometown of Snope City, Tennessee is what stereotypes are made of. The religious fanatics and small-minded gossips that small southern American towns are said to be full of made me very glad that I don’t live in one. Haven’s visions were construed as demonic possession and the town reacted with terrible treatment of her. Found the religious aspects that came with this storyline made me quite uncomfortable as it’s just something that I don’t really like to read about. This made me rather glad when the action moved to New York.

In New York, Haven met Iain Morrow who she thought to be Ethan, the love of her past lives that she knew through her visions. And I really couldn’t make my mind up about him. There was something fishy about him that didn’t exactly inspire my trust. But he turned Haven into a quivering lump of girly mush that made stupid, illogical and potentially dangerous decisions. Though she is a seventeen-year-old girl who’s deeply in love with the man she’s dreamed of since she was a little girl. You can’t entirely blame her for being soppy occasionally!

My uncertainty about Iain was enforced by a couple of other things: the mystery surrounding his and Haven’s past identities, Ethan and Constance, and their connection with the enigmatic Ouroboros Society. I think that even though The Eternal Ones just scraped its surface, the OS is not a society that I ever want to be a part of. All of the lies and misinformation from all directions left me confused and not sure what to believe.

If you want a book that’ll keep you up all night wondering, Kirsten Miller’s intriguing debut is definitely for you.
