Letterbox Love #51

Letterbox Love all of the lovely, lovely books I’ve gotten in the post, bought and everything else. Summaries are taken from the cover, or Amazon/NetGalley/Goodreads in the case of e-books, unless otherwise stated. Hosted by Narratively Speaking.

For review:

Oh Yeah, Audrey!, Tucker Shaw (proof)

It’s 5:00am on Fifth Avenue in New York City. And Gemma Beasley is standing in front o Tiffany & Co.

She’s wearing the perfect black dress and has coffee and pastry in hand, just like the opening scene of Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Gemma has travelled to New York along with her fellow bloggers at Oh Yeah, Audrey! – a blog entirely dedicated to all things Audrey Hepburn – inspired twenty-four-hour adventure. But when a glamorous boy sweeps in and offers Gemma the New York experience she’s only seen in the movies, she soon learns that all that sparkles isn’t quite as it seems.

Oh Yeah, Audrey! Is a hip yet heartfelt story about friendship and figuring out where you belong – and a love letter to New York City and to one of the most celebrated cultural icons in history, Audrey Hepburn.

This sounds like such a cute read. Plus, bloggers and NYC! Thanks Abrams and Chronicle!

Bought:

Secrets and Lies, Kody Keplinger (e-book)

Kody Keplinger returns to the halls of Hamilton High and explores new territory in her collection of two e-book exclusive novellas. In these short stories, the author revisits a familiar cast of characters from The DUFF (Designated Ugly Fat Friend) and A Midsummer’s Nightmare. Explore the uniquely teen world of high school drama, secrets, and romantic entanglements from completely fresh perspectives that will intrigue fans of Kody Keplinger and new readers alike.

I love Kody’s books so this should be an excellent addition to stories I love!

Say Her Name, James Dawson (e-book)

Drip... drip... drip... In five days, she will come...

Roberta ‘Bobbie’ Rowe is not the kind of person who believes in ghosts. A Halloween dare at her ridiculously spooky boarding school is no big deal, especially when her best friend Naya and cute local boy Caine agree to join in too. They are ordered to summon the legendary ghost of Bloody Mary: say her name five times in front of a candlelit mirror, and she shall appear... But, surprise, surprise, nothing happens. Or does it?

Next morning, Bobbie finds a message on her bathroom mirror – five days – but what does it mean? And who left it there? Things get increasingly weird and more terrifying for Bobbie and Naya, until it becomes all too clear that Bloody Mary  was indeed called from the afterlife that night, and she is definitely not a friendly ghost. Bobbie, Naya and Caine are now in a race  against time before their five days are up and Mary comes for them, as she has come for countless others before... A truly spine-chilling yet witty horror from shortlisted ‘Queen of Teen’ author James Dawson.

I’m a wuss and steer clear of horror, but I’ve heard such good things about this and James’ writing that I had to give it a go. Especially when it was only £1.89!
