Letterbox Love #47

Letterbox Love all of the lovely, lovely books I’ve gotten in the post, bought and everything else. Summaries are taken from the cover, or Amazon/NetGalley/Goodreads in the case of e-books, unless otherwise stated. Hosted by Narratively Speaking.

For review:

Blue, Lisa Glass (e-proof)

Surfing is sixteen-year-old Iris’s world, and when the ultra-talented Zeke walks into her life, it soon becomes her passion.

Over one amazing summer, as she is drawn into his sphere, she experiences love, new friendships, but also loss, with an intensity she never dreamed of.

But is Zeke all he seems? What hides beneath his glamorous and mysterious past? When Iris decides to try for her own surfing success, just as her ex-boyfriend comes into her life, she will test her talent, and her feelings for Zeke, to the limit.

This sounds so awesome. Thanks NetGalley and Quercus!

The Diaries of Bluebell Gadsby: Flora in Love, Natasha Farrant (e-proof)

The second heartfelt instalment in this beautifully-crafted, sassy new series that will make you laugh and cry.

Just when Bluebell thought her crazy family were behaving normally, her parents make an announcement that could turn everything upside down.

If only Zoran, their au pair, would come back to live with them. Unfortunately he’s too busy teaching guitar to his new protégée, Zachary Smith.

Blue is jealous at first, until Zach starts helping her little sister with a project and becomes a regular visitor at the Gadsby house.

Then Zach goes missing. Blue needs her family to pull together if they’re going to find him...

I didn’t expect the love the first book the way I did so I’m really looking forward to this. Thanks NetGalley and Faber!

Out of Control, Sarah Alderson (paperback)

She’s not just a witness – she’s a target!

An onlooker to a brutal murder, Liva is taken into police protection. But the police station is attacked and bullets start flying – and it’s Liva in the gunmen’s sights.

With a car thief called Jay, Liva escapes the massacre. Alone in New York, they are desperate to outrun and outwit two killers who are willing to stop at nothing to find them.

When you live on the edge, there’s a long way to fall.

Sarah Alderson always delivers a sexy, addictive thriller so I’m really looking forward to digging into this. Thanks S&S!

I also got a lovely, bright orange finished copy of Haunt by Curtis Jobling from S&S. Thanks ladies!

Bought:

The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea, April Genevieve Tucholke (e-book)

Faded Gatsby glamour and thrilling gothic horror meet in this gorgeously told, terrifying and dreamy YA romance.

‘You stop fearing the devil when you’re holding his hand...’

Nothing much exciting rolls through Violet White’s sleepy, seaside town...until River West comes along. River rents the guesthouse behind Violet’s crumbling estate, and as eerie, grim things start to happen, Violet begins to wonder about the boy living in her backyard. Is River just a crooked-smiling liar with pretty eyes and a mysterious past? Violet’s grandmother always warned her about the Devil, but she never said he could be a dark-haired boy who likes coffee and kisses you in a cemetery... Violet’s already so knee-deep in love, she can’t see straight. And that’s just how River likes it.

Only, this had my by ‘Gatsby glamour’... And it was only £1.79.

All Lined Up, Cora Carmack (e-book)

In Texas, two things are cherished above all else – football and gossip. My life has always been ruled by both.

Dallas Cole loathes football. That’s what happens when you spend your whole childhood coming in second to a sport. College is her time to step out of the bleachers, and put the playing field (and the players) in her past.

But life doesn’t always go as planned. As if going to the same college as her football star ex wasn’t bad enough, her father, a Texas high school coaching phenom, has decided to make the jump to college ball...as the new head coach at Rusk University. Dallas finds herself in the shadows of her father and football all over again.

Carson McClain is determined to go from second-string quarterback to the starting line-up. He needs the scholarship and the future that football provides. But when a beautiful redhead literally falls into his life, his focus is more than tested. It’s obliterated.

Dallas doesn’t know Carson is on the team. Carson doesn’t know that Dallas is his new coach’s daughter.

And neither of them know how to walk away from the attraction they feel.

Cora Carmack’s books are a guilty pleasure of mine so I’m really looking forward to this.
