‘Conversation halted abruptly. They all turned to stare at us if we were poisonous mushrooms suddenly growing ina manicured garden. They were pale and perfect, with gleaming teeth and hard eyes.’
It’s been centuries since Isabeau St. Croix survived the French Revolution. Now she’s made her way back to the living, and must face the ultimate test by confronting the evil British lord who turned her into a vampire and left her buried for two hundred years. That’s if she can control her affection for Logan Drake, whose bite is as sweet as the revenge she seeks.
The second book in the Drake Chronicles is just as action-packed and pull of romance as the first.
Blood Feud picks up almost immediately where My Love Lies Bleeding left off with the vampire world reeling and in political turmoil. As in the first book, I found the vampire politics and the different divisions a little confusing. It took me a while to remember who was who and from where, but once I did, I flew through it.
Once again Alyxandra Harvey hit the nail on the head with fun and endearing main characters. Isabeau is strong and fiery but with a softer and more vulnerable side. This was a side she kept concealed most of the time but was explained through flashback chapters of her pre-vamp life during the French Revolution and her early days as a vampire. And then there’s Logan. I really loved Logan. He’s funny, charming, romantic and full of snaky remarks. He also wears frock coats which I find strangely attractive!
I love this series full of sweet and lively romances and I can’t wait for book three, Out for Blood, which is released in November.
